The Mountain Climber is an excellent conditioning exercise that simulates the foot motion of climbing a steep incline.

How To Do It
1. Begin in the pushup position.
2. While keeping one leg in place, bring the other leg forward to your chest, as if starting a sprint. Your forward foot will land closer to your hands, and your forward leg will now be tucked close to your body.
3. Rapidly exchange your legs, so they reverse position.
4. Repeat. This movement resembles the movement of climbing a mountain.
Online Personal Trainer Tips
1. As with other primarily cardio exercises, breathe normally.
2. Keep your eyes on a spot a foot or so in front of you on the floor. To avoid neck injury, do not stare straight forward.
